      Financial Management

Being managed by a Registered Society (an NGO), the Museum is run on the
          income from financial contributions/donations.

Since 1971 till 2007, the main financial support  was being  provided by Gandhi Smarak Nidhi
in the form of a Corpus  Fund of Rs. 3.13 million, the interest on which was available
for the expenditure. With the passage of time, the financial position of  the Museum
suffered badly due to inflation. In 1996 and again in 2007 Government of India came to its

assistance with a Corpus Fund of Rs. 50 million each time.Click For Full View

Since then, only a token amount is being received from Gandhi Smarath Nidhi.

Contributions /donations  to  the Museum, project
based  or otherwise, are welcome. These are
entitled to tax exemption under Section 80G(5)(VI) of  the Income Tax Act, 1961.
